Ogden, UT — Ogden Contemporary Arts (OCA) is pleased to announce (Im)Posibilidades: Performance Art for Video, curated by PROArtes México and Adam Forrester. Featuring artists living and working across the United States and Mexico, these artists create liminal spaces for new forms of expression by performing explicitly for the camera, transforming captured footage into artworks that transcend documentation. This exhibition will run from August 1 through October 12, 2025. As always at OCA, Admission is free.
About the Exhibition
(Im)Posibilidades features artists working across a shared landmass with interconnected histories and social context. Their works challenge the destructive legacy of colonialism on Indigenous communities and confronts intergenerational trauma caused by slavery and its enduring impact on Black communities. The artists dismantle stereotypical gender roles and expose the environmental and cultural harm caused by rapid gentrification and the overarching forces of capitalism.
Through innovative use of video, manipulating imagery through editing, sound design, and chroma keying, these artists create liminal spaces for new forms of expression. Their work not only seeks to correct historical distortions but also constructs new digital platforms where their stories can thrive through performance and reimagination.
